    Locations: Fairbanks, AK (1 Opening) | Delta Junction, AK (1 Opening)
     Salary: $85,000–$125,000 annually
    (Compensation based on experience, education, and expertise in horizontal construction, conservation, and military projects)
     
    TDL Staffing is seeking a Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineer to support horizontal construction and land rehabilitation projects on U.S. Army and Air Force training lands in Interior Alaska. This position is available in either Fairbanks or Delta Junction (one opening in each location).
    This role supports long-term federal partnerships focused on improving military readiness while protecting sensitive ecosystems. Projects include planning, design, permitting, and field oversight in remote and challenging environments across Interior Alaska.
     
    Key Responsibilities
    • Design gravel roads, maneuver trails, drainage systems, erosion control, and soil stabilization solutions
    • Provide technical oversight for horizontal construction and land restoration efforts
    • Support sustainable rehabilitation strategies balancing operational and environmental needs
    • Coordinate permitting and regulatory compliance
    • Conduct field assessments and oversee construction activities
    • Utilize AutoCAD / Civil 3D and GIS tools for design and planning
    • Collaborate with federal partners, contractors, and project teams
     
    Minimum Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD / Civil 3D and GIS / ArcGIS
    • Experience with Alaska fieldwork or remote project environments
    • Valid driver’s license
    • OSHA-10 certification (or ability to obtain)
    • Must be able to access military installations (Real ID required)
    • Background screening is part of the hiring process

    • Must support a drug-free work environment
     
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license
    • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation
    • Experience supporting military, federal, or conservation infrastructure projects
