    Would you like to: 
    In the office:
    • Work on several projects simultaneously, proactively collaborating with other team members and clients to resolve technical challenges.
    • Prepare and review technical reports and respond to review comments by team members, clients or regulators for incorporation into planning and reporting documents.
    • Compile and interpret field and laboratory data to understand geotechnical and/or environmental implications for project sites.
    • Create technically accurate drawings in ArcGIS to spatially display data to support data analysis/interpretation and to represent conditions to ADEC/EPA regulators.
    • Create general geotechnical or environmental drawings in ArcGIS to show project locations and investigation locations.
    In the field:
    • Obtain utility locates for drilling or test pitting activities and coordinate mobilization activities with the driller or excavator.
    • Monitor field activities or log explorations and collect geotechnical and environmental samples. Troubleshoot challenges as they arise in the field.
    • Take detailed field notes to document field activities and data collected.
    • Arrange shipment of samples and equipment.
    • Prepare brief field reports to apprise project managers of progress, challenges and future activities.
    Ideally you have: 
    • B.S. in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or closely related discipline
    • Working understanding of ArcGIS and ADEC/EPA contaminated sites regulation
    • Qualification as a ADEC Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP)
    • Completion of 40-hour HAZWOPER
    • Two years of environmental permitting/NEPA experience
    • Ability to travel throughout Alaska for extended periods in all seasons
    • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physically demanding fieldwork
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; good interpersonal abilities
