Objectives of the Women of Excellence program:
- To honor and celebrate significant milestones, achievements and accomplishments of remarkable African-American women in the Greater Fairbanks area.
- To salute and congratulate these extraordinary women for being a shining example to other individuals in our community.
- To inspire more women to play an active role in society and contribute to the development of our community and country.
- To strengthen the network and support base of women to share information, experiences and expertise.
- To fund programs and purchase items needed for the JP Jones Community Development Center.
Please answer the questions on the reverse side of this page. Please be detailed and specific. Nominations must be received by 5:00 p.m Friday February 7, 2014.The awards committee will consider nominations of African American women from the Greater Fairbanks Area who have contributed to the community through professional, family and personal endeavors. Current JPJCDC Board members cannot be considered for nomination. Awards Criteria: - Candidate has demonstrated wisdom, strength and dignity.
- Candidate has excelled in her chosen field.
- Candidate rises above ordinary standards and expectations.
- Candidate has qualities of leadership, integrity, dedication, and service.
- Candidate is committed to improving the quality of life in our community through work or volunteer involvement.
- Candidate has qualities that encourage other women to view her as a role model.
