Development Director

Position Summary: The Development Director is responsible for planning and implementing fundraising strategies. They work closely with the executive team to set realistic fundraising goals. Some key responsibilities include organizing events, meeting with potential donors, and maintaining donor databases. They also develop marketing materials to support fundraising efforts. They ensure that the organization’s mission is clearly communicated to potential supporters. Additionally, maintaining relationships with major donors and managing grant-writing activities are essential tasks.
 
Qualifications: 

• BS/BA degree in a related field, such as marketing, communications, or business administration and/or at least five years of experience
• Familiarity with print and social media for recruiting & advertising purposes
• Experience in writing grant proposals
• Proficiency in using Microsoft, Canva, Adobe, and PhotoShop
• Experience making signage: posters, flyers, brochures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with donors
• Experience in managing and tracking the funds received from donors and analyzing the collected data
• Digital content creator to establish and grow a positive public presence for the Rescue Mission

• Managing the fundraising programs by seeking out opportunities for financial support through grants and sponsorships
• Design graphics, posters, and flyers
• Ability to plan and execute fundraising events
• Creation of publications to support fund raising activities and community engagement, including monthly newsletters and annual report
• Establish and grow a positive public presence for the Rescue Mission in the community, including churches, through the use of print and social media, television and radio ads

• Planning and evaluating fundraising campaigns and activities
• Identifying and securing corporate partnerships and sponsorships
• Maintaining a database of donor information, and utilizing the data to optimize fundraising efforts
