    Lead Groundskeeper
    Looking to fill a lead groundskeeper position for the summer season.  The Lead Groundskeeper will oversee a crew of four or more groundskeepers, depending on the scope of jobs, performing a variety of ground maintenance tasks for apartment complexes.  They will coordinate daily work activities, monitor quality and ensure compliance with safety and company standards.  Must be able to operate lawn tools and apply discretion in proper work methods and procedures on analyzing preventative maintenance needs.  Lead Groundskeeper environment must embody leadership expertise, strategic planning, possess strong organizational skills, an eye for detail and solid knowledge of landscaping principles.  Ensuring the outdoor environment, they manage is sustainable, visually pleasing and functional.
    Responsibilities & Skills
    -Familiar with all aspects of Grounds/Landscaping duties and perform daily tasks; mow, rake, trim, complete and dispose of materials; branches, shrubs, pet waste etc. Pressure wash buildings, decks, sidewalks etc.
    -Assign tasks, set priorities and ensure work is completed efficiently and to company standards.
    -Train, mentor grounds staff on proper techniques, equipment use, safety procedures and company expectations.
    -Monitor work quality and productivity; provide guidance, corrections and feedback when necessary.
    - Adhere to occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in grounds, landscaping and facilities maintenance work. Report safety concerns that present fire or safety hazards.
    - Assist custodial work such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning windows, etc., in common areas, residential units and other work areas, when needed.
    -Greet and interact with residents in a professional and courteous manner while on duty.
    - Responsible for meeting work order completion and deadlines. Perform other duties assigned by direct supervisor.
    Physical Demands
    -Physically able to walk, stand, sit for prolonged periods of time; able to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, make repetitive hand movement and climb ladders. To lift, carry, push and or pull moderate to heavy amount of weight.
    -Able to lift up to 10 pounds or more up to 50 pounds.  Occasionally lift or move 100 pounds (with the assistance of hand truck).
    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Valid Alaska’s Driver’s License. (Ability to be insured by company’s auto insurance)
    • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
    • Prior grounds maintenance or landscaping experience or related fields.
    • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
    • Ability to work independently and willingness to learn.
    Type: Seasonal (Temporary)Pay rate: $20-$21.50/hr.  Work schedule: Full time, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thirty-minute lunch break and two paid fifteen-minute breaks.
