UAF Arctic Innovation Competition
-
We would like to invite individuals and teams to participate in the 2014 UAF Arctic Innovation Competition (AIC). The AIC is based within the Alaska Arctic Region; however, it is not restricted to Arctic ideas and is free to anyone wishing to participate. Registering for the competition and submitting ideas is simple. Register at the AIC website (www.arcticinno.com) and then submit your ideas by clicking the ?Submit Idea? button. Multiple ideas are accepted as long as they haven?t already been commercialized. The 2014 submission deadline is Friday, September 19th and the competition is on Saturday, October 18th. Ideas must be presented in person. Almost $20,000 will be awarded to the top 20 winners, with $10,000 for 1st place. Additional prize money will be rewarded for arctic-related ideas. There is also a special incentive for college students. All inventors will retain ownership of their ideas. Submissions are judged on four basic criteria: ? Novelty-How original is this idea? Are there similar products already on the market? ? Utility-Does this idea have a practical application? Does this idea offer a solution to an unmet need? ? Feasibility-Can this idea be put into production? Is this idea possible to achieve? ? Value-What economic value does this idea present? Is it financially sound? Can this idea make a profit? Does this idea have sustainability?
