Run for Gold

The Run for Gold, formerly the Golden Mile, is a ONE mile fun run supporting the Literacy Council of Alaska. It starts 9:50 am Sat. July 21 in front of the Aurora Energy Power Plant on 1st Ave, and follows the Golden Days Parade route to the finish at 12th and Noble. You can register early at LCA from 10-5pm any week day until Friday, July 20 at noon. This is fun family event offers runners a chance to support literacy, lead the Parade, and new this year to win gold. There will be a random drawing at the finish for real gold! For more info call 456-6212 or go to http://www.literacycouncilofalaska.org/ This event supports the Literacy Council of Alaska whose mission is to change lives through literacy and promote literacy for people of all ages in Fairbanks and the Interior. Literacy is the ability to read, write, speak English, and compute in order to function in our community.
