Pre-Apprenticeship (PATH) Academy

The South Central Alaska Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is offering a week-long pre-apprenticeship (PATH) academy that provides an exploration of health-related professions with a focus on entry-level careers. Participants also earn certifications that can become the building blocks of a career pathway. The PATH academy is designed for adult participants (18+), and will be held at the JP Jones Community Development Center. The training runs April 23-27, 9 am – 4 pm. Class size is capped at 20 students. Grant funding allows us to offer this training free of cost for participants, with lunch and refreshments provided. This pre-apprenticeship academy is designed for adult (18+) participants to explore career pathways in the field of healthcare. Participants will be offered an introduction to a variety of health-related professions with a focus on entry-level careers. Certification is included as a part of the training and will include CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens and Mental Health First Aid.
