Alaska Postsecondary Access and Completion Network
By Lael Oldmixon: Member, Network Board of Directors and Executive Director of the UA College Savings Plan
By 2020, Alaska will have a shortage of over 22,000 qualified workers holding certifications or degrees beyond the 12th grade. Workforce research also shows insufficient supply of industry certifications in the skilled trades. The Alaska Postsecondary Access and Completion Network (Alaska CAN) is working to address the issue by building and strengthening partnerships to increase the percentage of all Alaskans who complete post-secondary education, particularly credentials relevant to a robust Alaskan economy. Network board members, Lael Oldmixion and Mary Gower, will present the goals and recent efforts of the Network to spark state-wide conversations and partnerships.
Reservations are strongly encouraged.
