Green Star is the only organization in the Interior of Alaska that provides electronics recycling. When e-waste is shipped to 3rd world countries for ?recycling,? people in the developing world handle and breathe in contaminated toxins like mercury or lead. However, when Interior Alaskans turn unwanted electronics in to Green Star?s Electronics Recycling Depot, they can rest assured the e-waste will never be sent to a 3rd world country for ?recycling.? Since 2007, Green Star has shipped 832,417 pounds of e-waste to Total Reclaim for green recycling. As an E-steward, Total Reclaim has completed a truly rigorous, internationally compliant certification program assuring e-recycling best practices.
