Celebrating 75 years with Alaska State Troopers

Fairbanks, AK (Saturday September 17th, 2016)– The Alaska State Troopers and the unseen heroes of public safety invite the community to celebrate 75 years of service to the State of Alaska. This event is intended to allow members of the public to meet their Alaska State Troopers and other first responders as well as law enforcement personnel and partnering agencies that serve behind the scenes to save lives and better their communities. *Youth Activities: Cops and Robbers, Evidence Collection, Finger Printing, Fire Safety Trailer, Fire Safety Slide, Safety Bear *Equipment: Alaska State Trooper Tactical Response Vehicle, Fire Trucks from the North Star Volunteer Fire Department and University of Alaska Fire Department, University of Alaska Ambulance FREE HAMBURGERS AND HOTDOGS PROVIDED WHAT: Bring your family to this free event to meet your Alaska State Troopers and other first responders as well as the agencies they work with in the community. This family centered event is designed to celebrate the Alaska State Troopers 75 years of service. Bring your children to experience a positive Saturday with law enforcement and gain a better understanding of the unseen partnerships the Troopers have with their community. There will be free hamburgers and hotdogs provided for families and activities for kids to enjoy such as Cops and Robbers, Evidence Collection, Finger Printing, Fire Safety Trailer, Fire Safety Slide, Safety Bear. Kids are welcome to also explore the following equipment: Alaska State Trooper Tactical Response Vehicle, Fire Trucks from the North Star Volunteer Fire Department and University of Alaska Fire Department, University of Alaska Ambulance. WHEN/WHERE: 10am – 2pm Saturday, September 17th, 2016 Located at Alaska State Troopers 1979 Peger Road, Fairbanks. Executive Director for the Autism Society of Alaska, Danielle Tessen believes strongly in this event’s emphasis on partnerships in the community “Behind the scenes our Alaska State Troopers are working with different agencies, such as the Autism Society of Alaska, to gain a greater understanding of their community. It is important for the public to be aware of these partnerships because it is what makes the last 75 years of their service incredible.”
