Oktoberfest at UAF

Get ready for a festive night of German culture, music, food, and fun! Join us Friday, October 17 from 6 – 10 p.m. in the Wood Center Mall for an unforgettable evening packed with activities and good vibes.

Enjoy live Oktoberfest tunes from UAF Music Department musicians (directed by April Jaillet)
Savor a traditional Oktoberfest dinner by Dine 49 (upstairs!)
Snap pics at the photo booth with Lederhosen and Dirndl
Try your hand at the beer mug carrying contest or finger hakeln
Join the pretzel toss, learn to yodel, and sample delicious German baked goods
Don’t miss the German beer tasting at the UAF Pub (21+ only)

From 7 – 8 p.m., stop by the multilevel lounge for a special panel featuring:

• The History of Oktoberfest – Helga Wagenleiter & Elliott Anderson
   

• The Music of Germany – Dr. Sarah McConnell
   

• The History and Politics of Bavaria – Dr. Alexander Hirsch
   

• Beer Brewing – Philip Moosmayer, German exchange student
   

This family-friendly celebration is open to all! Come eat, play, learn, and dance the night away—right here at UAF.
