FAIRBANKS FIREHOUSE SUBS HOSTS COMMUNITY COMMITMENT DAY BENEFITTING UNITED WAY OF TANANA VALLEY
-
WHAT Local Firehouse Subs Franchisees Catharine and Greg Persinger invite guests to help give back to their local community through a Community Commitment Day. Catharine and Greg are excited to donate 20% of sales on Tuesday, September 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m to United Way of Tanana Valley.* The funds raised will benefit UWTV’s annual giving campaign to support local communities. A member of UWTV will be at the event Tuesday to share more ways that local residents and business can get involved, and guests will be able to “Fill the Pickle Bucket” by donating cash to UWTV. Additional activities will be available for kids. “Catharine was an employee of a member agency of United Way for many years, and I used to be a member of UWTV’s board,” said Greg. “Through those experiences and as a family with deep roots in Fairbanks, we’ve seen all of the impressive ways United Way helps our neighbors and community.” “We recently celebrated our first anniversary, and it’s been a truly amazing first year,” said Catharine. “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate by giving back to those who have given so much to us.” Firehouse Subs Fairbanks also gives back to local first responders through Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The Foundation recently celebrated a $33,880 grant awarded to City of Fairbanks Fire Department to fund the purchase of a monitor/defibrillator and accessories. A portion of every sale at any Firehouse Subs restaurant in the U.S. benefits the Foundation, supporting the non-profit’s mission of providing lifesaving equipment, funding and education to first responders and public safety organizations across the country. This is thanks to a donation by Firehouse of America, LLC (franchisor for the brand), resulting in a minimum donation of one million dollars to Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation in 2019. *Offer only valid at participating locations.
