dis/comfort in the North: : An Arctic & Northern Studies MA Project exhibition curated by Katie Ione Craney
-
dis/comfort in the North features more than 50 artists from 16 countries. Selected through a call for submissions and by invitation, artists share encounters and intimacies with the North through video, photography, carving, embroidery, an interactive card game, a protest speech, and two-dimensional works printed on photo transparencies. A range of experiences and stories unfold, asking viewers to consider their own dis/comfort and reflect on the broader contexts of how comfort shapes living in and visiting the North. Curated by master’s student Katie Ione Craney, this exhibition is a project for the Arctic & Northern Studies program.
