Circumpolar Music Series presents Beth Kollé (lever harp) & Rachel Nesvig (violin & Hardanger fiddle)
-
Join us on Saturday, October 10th at 7pm in the Charles W. Davis Concert Hall for an evening of Scandinavian folk music. Norwegian-American harper Beth Kollé returns to the Circumpolar Music Series in collaboration with Seattle-based violinist and Hardanger fiddler, Rachel Nesvig. Together, these musicians will provide a unique blend of traditional Scandinavian folk music, lyrical melodies, and the distinctive sounds of the Hardanger fiddle and lever harp. About the Circumpolar Music Series The Circumpolar Music Series is an initiative led by the UAF Department of Music beginning in 2022. CMS will annually showcase artists, scholars, and musicians who identify with the circumpolar region of the world. Through performances, lectures, and hands-on activities, distinct features of northern art and music will be shared and explored. The UAF Department of Music is grateful to its generous benefactor, Catherine Madsen for her support of the Circumpolar Music Series.
