Meet your Chamber staff
Marisa is excited to be working for the Chamber after spending the last 14 years working for a company that placed a tremendous value on their chamber membership. She started in her role as President/CEO at the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce on July 5, 2016, just 12 work days before Golden Days, the Chamber’s biggest week of community events. It was a whirlwind welcome to the office and the role!
Marisa looks forward to connecting with members, committees, work groups, and volunteers in the coming year with a mission to seek opportunities to grow the Chamber’s membership, deliver on commitments of the Chamber, and continue to create value for our community and business sector in Interior Alaska. She welcomes an open dialogue and feedback on any topic with any Chamber stakeholder.
Marisa was born and raised in Fairbanks and North Pole, is a graduate of North Pole High School and University of Alaska Fairbanks with Bachelors of Business Administration. She spends her winters snowboarding, playing hockey, cooking, baking, and eating and her summers are spent counting down the return of winter with an occasional bike ride or trip to Quartz Lake.
Amanda Blanchard is our Membership Program Coordinator. Amanda recently moved back to Fairbanks after helping care for a family member in the lower 48 for an extended period of time, and she’s so happy to be back! She previously worked in Fairbanks with Catholic Schools of Fairbanks/Monroe Foundation, Inc. as the Advancement Coordinator. She has also served previously as the chair of the Ambassador Committee here at the Chamber. She brings a host of experience in fundraising and relationship building and maintenance. Amanda will lead our recruitment and retention efforts focusing on our membership. The strength of the Chamber lies in its membership.
Amanda has a Bachelor’s of Mortuary Science and an Associates of Applied Science from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.
Amanda and her husband Keith have two children, Nicholas and Caroline. She grew up around the world and most recently hails from South Carolina. Fairbanks is now her forever home.
Events & Programs Coordinator
Alla has a strong passion for the Fairbanks community and being a part of an organization that supports a strong business environment. Her responsibilities include ensuring all Chamber events and programs are appropriately planned, promoted, and executed. She is also in charge of creating relationships with the community to secure sponsorships and ensure the deliverance of sponsorship benefits. Her enthusiastic customer service skills and many years of experience make her a valued member of our team. Her eagerness to learn and excel are guiding her to success. She fluently speaks three languages. Holding the status of a happily married wife, Alla is also a loving and proud mom of three beautiful children.
Christina Tachick started working for the Chamber as the Events and Programs Coordinator in July of 2016 and transitioned into her current role of Communications & Marketing Coordinator in August 2017. Christina keeps our website up to date, manages our Facebook page, and produces our e-blasts twice a week.
Born and raised on the Kenai Peninsula, Christina originally came to Fairbanks for college and currently has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Business Administration, both from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
A lifelong Alaskan, Christina enjoys outdoor activities and has been riding around on a snowmachine since she was 18 months old. Her other favorite things to do include reading, playing sports, dabbling in arts and crafts, and baking or cooking.
Elizabeth transitioned into her role with the Chamber in December 2016. She has a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration, both from the University of Louisville. She is also a certified Project Management Professional. Elizabeth is organized, detail-oriented and always on the hunt for efficiencies and process improvements. Her past experiences have included working across several levels of organizations, such as boards and committees, as well as managing teams and coordinating project development and rollouts. She has experience in policy research, project management, legislation tracking, grants and contracts, compliance and quality improvement. She is excited to make meaningful contributions to and support the Chamber’s leadership role in advocacy in the community for years to come!
Elizabeth was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky and relocated to Fairbanks in late 2016 with her husband and family. She enjoys ballroom dancing, gardening, and anticipates summers full of exploration around the great state of Alaska!
Ceirra Brunsvold started working at the Chamber as the Administrative Assistant in September 2017. She is community oriented, and excited to be a part of a team and company that has a significant role with involvement in the community. Ceirra enjoys and takes pride in her work, and brings to the work place a strong work ethic, many years of customer service, a keen eye to detail, enthusiasm, and a multitude of other skills. Ceirra enjoys fishing and camping in the summer, and a fire, soft blanket, and big cup of hot chocolate in the winter. Ceirra is also a huge advocate for coffee, especially while chasing after 3 little ones during her time off.
