About 100 people are expected to attend the AGU Chapman Conference on Magnetosphere Dynamics to be held Sept. 27 to Oct. 2 at the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel and Conference Center. The conference will focus on Earth's magnetospheric dynamics dynamics of geomagnetic storm and substorm; the roles of reconnection in Earth?s magnetosphere; and the new results of the MMS mission. Three tutorial lectures are planned: physics of magnetic reconnections, solar flares and coronal mass ejections, and comparative planetary magnetospheres. Chapman Conferences is a program by the American Geophysical Union. Joseph Khan and Peter Delamere, both of the Geophysical Institute, are conveners.
