    January 4, 2023 (Fairbanks, AK)
The Fairbanks North Star Borough Natural Resources Development Division (NRD) announces dates for the 2023 Land Sale Virtual and In-Person Open House events.

There are two events scheduled. The first event is a "virtual" open house that will be available for viewing on the Natural Resources Development webpage on January 9, 2023. The website will feature a prerecorded message from Borough Mayor Bryce Ward and NRD Manager Daniel Welch.

The second event is an "in-person" open house on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Pioneer Park Civic Center, 2300 Airport Way, in Fairbanks.

The open house events are intended to allow Borough residents to participate in the development process and provide a clear understanding of the lands being offered for sale. This includes two sale options of nearly 21 acres of land to be proposed to the Borough Assembly for sale.

The properties suggested for sale are:
        • Cooperative Sale: North Shanly, Block 4, and a portion of Block 6.
        • Three Auction Sales:
            o North Shanly, Block 9.
o GL-12 + GL 13, east of Birch Lake, south of the Richardson Highway.
o Old Salcha Transfer Site, northwest of the Richardson Highway/Johnson Road.

Both events are free and open to the public; no RSVP is necessary.

The Natural Resources Development Division encourages the public to learn about the land offerings proposed for sale and to provide comments. The comment period is January 9 to January 30, 2023.
