Grounds Worker
Posted: 08/14/2023The UAF Facilities team is hiring a Grounds Worker position. The Grounds Worker will be responsible for supporting the successful operations of the general services provided by Facilities Services Department of Operations.
Duties:
Provide for campus beautification and safety by; caring for ornamental trees and shrubs, production and care of annual and perennial flowers, snow removal and sanding and a full range of other landscaping maintenance tasks. Install and maintain landscapes including interior plants capes, identifies and eradicates pests as necessary; and operates tools and equipment. Assist in the training of temporary workers. Performs laboring or other semi-skilled duties including drilling, digging, assists tradesmen when directed.
Required education or training: Must have and maintain a Valid Driver License and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria. Three (3) years multi-trade experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred education or training: Previous experience within the grounds maintenance or construction trades is preferred but not required to obtain an interview, as long as your resume and references demonstrate a well-established work ethic and ability to learn.
