    Mt. McKinley Bank has an amazing opportunity available at our Downtown Branch!  We are seeking a career-minded individual with awesome technical skills to join our IT Team!  This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package!  Hours are 8-5 Mon-Fri with occasional overtime.

    The Technical Support Specialist position’s primary responsibilities include advanced Help Desk support for employees and external customers and basic network administration including installing and configuring of software and hardware connected to the LAN server and workstations.  Additionally, this position may perform routine network systems maintenance.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Help Desk Responsibilities:
    • Responds to user issues via phone, email, computer chat or in person
    • Manages user requests in a timely manner
    • Provides user assistance
    • Documents user interactions
    • Assists team with more complex or advanced issues
    • Runs diagnostics to resolve employee or external customer-reported issues
    • Installs, makes changes and repairs computer hardware and software
    • Follows up with users to ensure issues are resolved
    • Travels to other branches to perform maintenance and repair of hardware and software as needed
    Network Administration Responsibilities:
    • Maintains network systems, installing new hardware and modifying existing hardware, related network software and applications
    • Installs and maintains peripheral devices including printers, switches, routers and other equipment
    • Communicates with users to understand and troubleshoot problems
    • Conducts periodic diagnostics and testing to ensure optimal network function and minimal downtime
    • Performs data extraction and report writing
    • Maintains email and network services, adding and removing users and accounts
    • Collaborates with IT team and supervisor to review and analyze hardware and software needs; recommends changes for future upgrades and implementations
    • Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems, replaces defective or inadequate software packages, and refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction
    • Interfaces with other departments, vendors or consultants to resolve problems relating to technical issues involving core business applications and operating systems
    • Other duties as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Associate’s degree or above in computer science or related field required
    •  3 years’ experience in network maintenance and user technical support preferred; a combination of education and experience is accepted
    • A+, Network+ and/or similar certifications or training highly preferred
    • Previous operational banking experience preferred, or a combination of education and experience
    • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts with minimal notice
    • Available to work overtime if necessary
    • Proficiency with Microsoft operating system and applications
    • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic computer technical issues
    • Ability to follow complex detailed instructions to accomplish more complex tasks
    • Excellent oral communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
