    Job Description
    Position:       Network System Administrator
    Location:      Fairbanks 
    Pay Range:   $33.45/hour+ DOE

    Essential Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information science, or an applicable business field. Four (4) years equivalent experience may be substituted for the required degree. (College level work may be substituted for the equivalent experience requirement on a one-for-one basis.)
    • Minimum two (2) years' experience supporting current networked computer software (applications and operating systems) in a virtual environment. Experience with TCP/IP networking protocols and DNS
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Layer 1 1/1 1 1/1 network systems and hardware to include firewalls.
    • Ability to monitor network infrastructure systems using industry standard monitoring tools.
    • Ability to diagnose conflicts between components of the network infrastructure (hardware and software) and resolve problems.
    • Ability to maintain workstation hardware and software, including the diagnosis and resolution of problems.
    • Experience with networking and Active Directory security protocols and server technologies best practices preferred (familiarity with NIST, IT IL and ISO recommended procedures preferred).
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and courteously under stressful situations with organizations/agencies and other staff members. Ability to maintain confidential information.
    • Must be capable of functioning with minimal direction and perform work in a timely, organized, and professional manner.
    • Ability to perform well under stressful situations and the pressure of short deadlines and the ability to work weekends and nights as needed.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills, particularly in explaining technical concepts to non-technical staff.
    • Ability to have and maintain a valid driver's license and to meet insurance standards and maintain insurability under the organization's insurance program. If personal automobile is used for organizational business, proof of insurance at statutory limits must be provided. (A CURRENT COPY OF DRIVING RECORD WILL BE REQUESTED AT TIME OF HIRE)
