    The Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to become the leader of our organization. Serving at the will of the Board of Directors, the President and Chief Executive Officer provides leadership, direction, and management for all aspects of Chamber activities and is responsible for seeing the strategic initiatives and policies of the Board of Directors are effectively implemented.

    The President and CEO serves as a non-voting member of, and carries out general responsibilities as may be delegated, the Board of Directors and Executive Committee and reports directly to the Board Chair.

    The President and CEO provides guidance to the Board and committees regarding public policy, programs, and other key initiatives and serves as the principal advocate and spokesperson for the Chamber in conjunction with the Chair. The President and CEO works closely with a wide range of constituencies through the greater Fairbanks area and State of Alaska in the public, private and non/not-for-profit sectors to build support and coalitions consistent with the Chamber’s mission and priorities.

    As the chief executive of the organization, the President and CEO is responsible for the full range of activities to ensure the Chamber’s success in meeting its business advocacy, community and economic development, membership services, marketing/image development, education/workforce development and special program goals and objectives.

    To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the education, experience, and position requirements listed in the job description. The successful candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple demands and numerous stakeholders, while managing the staff of the Chamber.

    This position requires a bachelor’s degree from and accredited institution in Business Management or equivalent senior executive experience in corporate, political, community or not-for profit management areas.  Applicants must also have previous management and/or leadership experience.
