The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) proactively solicits new residential mortgage business and sells Denali State Bank mortgage products to meet established loan quality and production goals. This is an outside sales role where the MLO continually identifies, develops and maintains a quality network of business relationships that serves as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. The MLO career path consists of four levels (Trainee, MLO I, MLO II, MLO III) primarily determined by experience and are distinguished based on the complexity of the work, level of supervision received, and the degree of autonomy.
QUALIFICATIONS
All levels require a high school diploma or equivalent and have a normal work schedule of Monday - Friday, 8am – 5pm, including the ability to work outside normal business hours in order to meet customer or business demands. The qualifications below indicate a general guideline but may be flexible at management’s discretion:
Loan Officer Trainee: No prior mortgage lending experience or less than 12 months of mortgage lending experience. This is a trainee role where the incumbent is learning how to be a Mortgage Loan Originator through on-the-job training. This is a non-exempt position and is not eligible for commission. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field preferred. Sales experience preferred.
MLO I: At least one year of mortgage lending experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Minimum loan production is 4 loans per month on an 8-month rolling average.
MLO II: At least three years of mortgage lending experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field preferred. Minimum loan production is 8 loans per month on an 8-month rolling average.
MLO III: Over five years of mortgage lending experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field preferred. Minimum loan production is 12 loans per month on an 8-month rolling average.
