    The University of Alaska System (UA) is the only public university system in Alaska, comprised of three separately accredited universities and a system office. Reporting to the System Chief Finance Officer, the Controller serves as the chief accounting officer for UA. The Controller provides senior leadership and management of the UA’s financial accounting and reporting functions, as well as the efficient and effective monitoring, management, stewardship, and control of UA’s financial resources. The Controller leads UA’s accounting operations in providing accurate and timely financial information, development and communication of financial policies and procedures, implementation of effective internal financial controls, compliance with accounting principles, laws and regulations, and collaborates across UA assuring quality services to UA’s stakeholders.

    Salary is commensurate with experience. This is a full-time, exempt position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.     Required education or training: A Bachelor’s degree is required; a CPA is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

    This position is designated as an officer of the university or senior administrator at the discretion of the president.
