"The Impact of Abortion Restrictions on Violence Against Women" WGSS meeting with Ingrid Johnson

In 2019, Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawai'i, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky challenged an Alaska statute that limited who could provide abortion care in the state (the advanced practice clinician ban or APC ban). Dr. Johnson served as an expert witness on the case, providing insight on the impact of the APC ban on survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV), particularly in rural Alaska.

Dr. Ingrid Johnson is a criminologist and victimologist who specializes in gender-based violence and help-seeking behavior amongst crime victims.
