Indulge your senses in beautifully performed live tango music, recorded swing and ballroom dance music, tasty cocktails, and decadent desserts at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival "Tango at the Westmark." Come just to listen to this marvelous music, or dance, too, if the spirit moves you! FSAF visiting tango composers and dance instructors, Carmen Maret, flute, and Andrew Bergeron, guitar, from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Caitlin Warbelow, violin, from New York City, will perform luscious tango pieces, with a guest appearance by violist Taija Warbelow from The Juilliard School and San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Caitlin has toured nationally with the Grammy-nominated Irish music group, Cherish the Ladies, performing with top orchestras including the Denver and Detroit symphonies, and has toured with internationally renowned Irish tenor Michael Londra and his band, Celtic Fire. Kurt Byers, well-known locally for his recorded swing and ballroom dance mixes, will provide dance music to fill out the festive night. Cash bar and delecious desserts! Dress is Fairbanks vacation casual to classy–just about anything goes, as long as you feel relaxed! No advance ticket sales or reserved seating.
