One of literature’s most famous adventures comes to life in the North Star Ballet’s production of Alice in Wonderland at Hering Auditorium April 21 and 22. Alice in Wonderland was designed to appeal to children, but, as is the case with the Lewis Carroll story, provides enchantment for all ages. The program features the premiere of a new work by Courtland Weaver to the music of Antonio Vivaldi. The program also features the restaging of In the White Silence to the music of John Luther Adams with choreography by Norman Shelburne. The revival of Sue Perry’s Cakewalk to the music of Louis Gottschalk sets a lively pace for the North Star Ballet Apprentice and Junior Companies in the program. Performances are Saturday April 21 at 2 and 8 pm and Sunday, April 22 at 2 pm. Tickets are available at Safeway at Bentley Mall, Enchanted Forest Toys and North Star Ballet. For more information contact North Star Ballet at 451-8800 or online at www.theNorthStarBallet.org.
