Film Screening: American Murder: Gabby Petito (Episode 1) In advance of Gabby’s Voice: Breaking the Silence on Domestic Violence, the American Murder: Gabby Petito documentary (Episode 1) will be screened to provide context and background on Gabby’s story. The three-part series examines the highly publicized case of Gabby Petito and the events leading up to her death, offering insight into the warning signs and dynamics of intimate partner violence that were later brought to national attention. We are hosting this screening so our campus and community can enter the March 2 conversation informed — with a deeper understanding of Gabby’s story before hearing from Tara Petito and Nichole Schmidt in person.
Screening Date & Location: Monday, Feb. 23 | 5 PM | Hess Recreation Center
Content Note: This documentary includes discussions and depictions related to domestic violence. Viewer discretion is advised. Support resources will be available at the screening for students and community members who would like them.
This screening is presented by the UAF Department of Justice in partnership with the Gabby Petito Foundation. Join us as we learn together, reflect together, and prepare for an important community conversation.
