The Airport Operators Council at Fairbanks International Airport is hosting Fairbanks Aviation Day, May 19, 2012. This one day event welcomes the public to get a “behind the scenes” look at what goes on at the airport. Activities include a pancake breakfast, hands-on activities, aircraft on display, mini-seminars, airport tours and more. The Experimental Aircraft Association will host a Young Eagles program, where youth are able to take a free introductory flight.
The event is free, open to the public, and will take place at the Alaska Aerofuel Corporate Hangar, in the Sadler Building on the northwest corner of the airport, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds from the pancake breakfast will be used to fund aviation scholarships and educational programs in Fairbanks.
