Fairbanks author Jean Anderson will read from her new book "Human Being Songs: Northern Stories" (University of Alaska Press, 2017). This collection was a finalist for the annual G.S. Sharat Chandra Prize in Short Fiction from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2015 and in 2016. Jean holds an MFA from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she taught for about ten years. She is the author of another collection of stories, "In Extremis and Other Alaskan Stories" and coeditor, with Elyse Guttenberg, of an anthology, "Inroads." Jean's fiction has appeared in many anthologies and journals. Copies of "Human Being Songs" will be available for purchase at the reading.
