As part of the 34th 64th Parallel Juried Exhibition, Fairbanks Arts Association and juror Jamie Bates Slone invite to a Juror’s Talk in the Blue Room at Pioneer Park! A sculptor working out of Oklahoma, Jamie’s current work is a reflection of her memories of physical and mental illness with an emphasis on the relationship between human biology and human emotion. By using the figure as a metaphor for illness, she conveys the sentiments often correlated with disease and disorder. During the talk, Jamie will share more about her work and experience as a sculptor.
