Join PRSA Alaska in Fairbanks for a presentation that provides insights into how U.S. Embassies around the world use social media to effectively communicate consistent U.S. Foreign Policy messages to diverse foreign audiences around the world. Sara Harriger has served as a Foreign Service Officer with the United States Department of State since 2006. She specializes in Public Diplomacy and has been assigned to Saudi Arabia, India, Japan, and Iraq. In January, she will begin her next assignment as the Consul for Western France based in Rennes, Britanny. Sara graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2004. She speaks French, Arabic, and Japanese. In this session you will learn: ? Context matters: tailor your message and delivery to fit the cultural, economic, and social context of your audience. ? ABCs of marketing: how the Department of State develops marketing campaigns, including for social media. ? The last three feet: using social media to facilitate face-to-face interaction.
