Jack de Yonge, retired journalist and native of Fairbanks, will speak at the rededication of the Felix Pedro Monument sponsored by the Pioneers of Alaska as part of Golden Days. De Yonge, who graduated from the University of Alaska and got his start in journalism at the Daily News-Miner, is author of a newly published coming-of-age memoir "Boom Town Boy" set in Fairbanks during the World War II years.
