SUMMARY:Young Professionals Council Monthly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Local young adults (no particular age limit) are invited to attend YPC's monthly meetings for networking and interesting presentations.\n\n \n\nOur guest speaker in October will be Steve Haagenson\, previous President and CEO of Golden Valley Electric Association\, who will walk us through a leadership handout from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association's CEO Leadership Lab.\n\n \n\nSteve says\, "This is a helpful tool to look at leadership styles and expected results. All of the models are useful in specific situations\, and several can be combined with good results. This puts leadership models into perspective."\n\n \n\nAlso\, Jim Williams\, Fairbanks North Star Borough Mayor Karl Kassel's Chief of Staff will present a brief overview of our community's fiscal situation.\n\n\n\n\n\nOther agenda items: review how the School Board Candidate Forum turned out\, discuss the first Connect 49 event of the season and consider plans for our next half-day professional development conference.\n\n \n\nThe meeting will be held at Fairbanks Economic Development Corporation's office: 330 Wendell Ave\, Ste E. Due to Noble St construction\, it's best to approach FEDC's office from Old Steese.\n\n \n\nIf you'd prefer to join us remotely\, email bbrado@investfairbanks.com and you'll receive a link to the streamed presentation. You can also call in at 1-800-315-6338\, access code: 61930#
