DESCRIPTION:See Engineering in Action at UAF\n\nThe University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Engineering and Mines (CEM) and Institute of Northern Engineering (INE) invite you to join us for our annual Engineering Open House.\n\nThis year marks a milestone: the 60th Ice Arch. Started in 1966 by alumnus Alan Straub\, the Ice Arch has been designed and built by UAF students for six decades\, an EWeek tradition that reflects teamwork\, precision\, and the kind of engineering education shaped by Alaska itself.\n\nSaturday\, February 28\, 2026\n\n11:00 AM 3:00 PM\n\nUsibelli Building | UAF Campus\n\nGenerously sponsored by ConocoPhillips Alaska\, this free\, family-friendly event features hands-on activities\, student projects\, and conversations with the faculty and students preparing Alaska's next generation of engineers\, from below ground to above the atmosphere.\n\nWe're also proud to award youth scholarship accounts during the event\, made possible through the generous support of GVEA and Alaska 529. Their partnership helps ensure more Alaska students can see a future for themselves in engineering and Alaska's technical workforce.\n\nWe hope you'll join us\, bring your family\, and see the impact up close.\n\nMore to come soon about ways you can further support these students and programs.
