SUMMARY:Science for Alaska Lecture Series
DESCRIPTION:Changing Relationship Among Alaska Hunters\, Wildlife\, and Habitat will be presented by Todd Brinkman\, Assistant Professor of Wildlife Ecology\, Institute of Arctic Biology\, UAF\n\n\nThis is a free all ages lecture.\n\n\n\nDuring the last 10 years\, I've collaborated on several studies exploring how climate and landscape change have influenced large-game hunting across Alaska. I present findings on deer\, moose\, caribou\, and whale hunting systems. I concluded that recent changes have challenged common hunting practices primarily by disrupting access to hunting areas. Innovative hunting strategies and flexible policies will be required to foster hunter adaptation.
