The 2013 lecture series will undergo important changes from previous years: all lectures will be hosted on campus at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and will span over four Saturdays in January.\n\n \n\n Kicking-off on Jan. 5 at 2 p.m.\, the lecture series will feature scientific research of earthquakes\, sea ice\, air quality and lasers. Scientists presenting the lectures are on the forefront of their fields and will be focusing on research that is relevant to Alaska. Lectures will continue on Saturday afternoons through Jan. 26.\n\n \n\n Presentations will be held in the Schaible Auditorium\, located in the Bunnell Building (303 Tanana Loop). All Lectures and parking on campus are free to the public. Following each of the lectures\, coffee and hot tea will be provided and audience members will have an opportunity to meet the scientists. \n\n \n\n At this time\, there are no events scheduled for other locations outside of Fairbanks. \n\n \n\n The 2013 Science for Alaska Lecture Series is sponsored by the Geophysical Institute and the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
