DESCRIPTION:Alaskan residents may see and hear increased military flying activities this spring and summer due to scheduled training exercises at Elmendorf and Eielson Air Force Bases.  RED FLAG-Alaska is a series of Pacific Air Forces commander-directed field training exercises for U.S. and allied forces that provides joint offensive counter-air\, interdiction\, close air support\, and large force employment training in a simulated combat environment. \n\n\n\nThe upcoming RED FLAG exercises for the 2011 are as follows:\n\nRED FLAG-Alaska 11-1: Apr. 14-29\n\nRED FLAG-Alaska 11-2: Jul. 7-22\n\nRED FLAG-Alaska 11-3: Aug. 11-26\n\nRED FLAG-Alaska 12-1: Oct. 6-21\n\n \n\nTentative flying periods for RED FLAG-Alaska 11-1 are 9a.m.   1p.m. and 3p.m.   7p.m. weekdays\, with no flying scheduled for the weekends.
