SUMMARY:Mutt March
DESCRIPTION:The objective of the Mutt March since 2001 has been for the community. Prices have never increased for vendors or attendance fee for the Mutt March parade ($5.00/dog) . There are (3) objectives to the Mutt March: an opportunity for the public to enjoy a few hours of the day with their amazing canines\; an opportunity for a few of the dogs from our local animal shelter to be introduced to the public with adoption results a positive every year\; and a very important opportunity for the community to familiarize themselves with a few of their local canine resources. ?? The Mutt March events are set off with a Mutt 'March'. With the dogs from our local animal shelter leading the way\, a 1.5 mile parade of dogs and their people parade through the nearby neighborhood. Registration for the Mutt March begins at 11:00am in the front parking lot\, on the Moore Street side of Pioneer Park. Vendors and organizations are set up at Moose Creek Pavilion area ready to greet the public at 12pm. Games begin\, music and food are available beginning 12pm-3pm. The dogs available for adoption from our local animal shelter will be introduced at approximately 1:30pm. Once everyone has arrived back in the park from the Mutt 'March'. Events taking place throughout are Golden Retriever of Fairbanks\, conducting their Canine Good Citizen Training\, Pool games\, a free agility playground sponsored by ABC K9 Fun\, Inc. The Mutt March presents a wonderful opportunity to the public to familiarize themselves with their local resources canine associated available in the community. Our Master of Ceremonies introduces the dogs from our local animal shelter offering a bit of a biography as to what we know of them\, assisting better familiarity for potential for rehoming as a result of their attendance at the Mutt March. This year\, as a bit of a surprise\, we will be celebrating in the company of a new water line pipe being laid. Although the timing has challenged creativity a bit\, we look forward to a day filled with enjoyment and family fun for all attending.
