DESCRIPTION:Featuring Matt Stone\, HDR Alaska Transportation Manager\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFairbanks Chamber members will learn about an important road improvement to a high traffic intersection: the intersection of Gaffney Road\, Airport Way\, Richardson Highway\, and Steese Expressway. The existing intersection is regularly in the top 10 of all intersections for the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities' Northern Region total number of crashes within a 5 year window\, and has the 5th highest number of total injury and fatal crashes. The presentation will include the purpose of the project\, current project status\, project schedule\, and important information about the intersection. By improving this intersection\, Chamber members can expect improved safety for their employees who frequent the area and improved traffic flow for organizations that utilize the infrastructure as part of their business route. Attending this presentation will help Chamber members to stay informed of the project and be aware of the impacts in that area for their business and personal travel.\n\n\n\nThis project is being developed under the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP).
