DESCRIPTION:Nikki Hines\, Prisoner Reentry Coordinator\, will discuss the Alaska Prisoner Reentry Initiative(AK-PRI). The AK-PRI is a statewide strategic approach to reduce crime to create safer neighborhoods and better citizens through the delivery of a seamless plan of services\, programming\, support\, and supervision. This is a community wide initiative that requires support from citizens\, employers\, and community leaders. Chamber members might be interested in hearing how they can benefit from hiring ex-offenders\; Work Opportunity Tax credit and Fidelity Bonding. Updates on proposals that change how we currently sentencing offenders and when those changes could take place.
