SUMMARY:Fairbanks Arts February Exhibitions: Olena Ellis and John Hagen
DESCRIPTION:Join Fairbanks Arts Association in the Bear Gallery for our February exhibitions: "OMGoddess!" by Olena Ellis and "The Sound of Wind and Grass: Images from Ugashik\, AK" by John Hagen. John Hagen is an Unungan (Aleut) and I upiaq photographer whose body of work was created in the village of Ugashik in Western Alaska\, in Bristol Bay\, the land of his ancestors. Olena Ellis's "OMGoddess!" was created in response to 2020\, as society was pushed into the uncomfortable and uncharted territory between politics\, pandemic\, loss\, and isolation. The exhibitions are on view in the Bear Gallery from February\, 5 26. The gallery is open Monday Friday\, 12 6 p.m. Visitors are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing\, and the gallery currently has a 10-guest limit in place.
