Technology and social media has shortened this distance. Charlene Ostbloom\, vice president of communication for Doyon\, Limited\, shares tips on how public relations professionals can develop and effective communication tactics to reach rural Alaska communities. In her presentation\, Charlene will share how Doyon\, Limited communicates with their constituents around Alaska on important topics like ?Get Out the Native Vote? and legislative issues. In this session you will learn: how to determine your target audience and what makes them unique\; identifying tools to communicate engaging messages and how to measure effectiveness of communication tools. Since December 2012\, Charlene Ostbloom has served as Doyon\, Limited?s Vice President of Communications. She is responsible for the company?s internal and external communication strategies\, including advertising and marketing\, employee and shareholder communication\, and public relations. Previously\, she served as the Human Resource Service Center Manager at Doyon and worked at Alyeska Pipeline Service Company for more than 10 years in various capacities.
