As organizations become more and more technologically savvy\, so do the criminals who use it to their advantage. Today?s public relations professionals need to know the types of risks their organization is most likely to face and the steps needed to mitigate them. In this session you will learn about: National security and criminal cyber threat actors and how they target you through phishing Cyber fraud schemes\, such as data breaches\, carding\, Nigerian scams\, swatting\, and cryptowall Social media risks and potential targeting About the presenter: Deirdre Fike earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and began her career as a Special Agent with the FBI in January 1989. Since then she has served in a number roles such as investigator of Violent Crimes\, Crisis Negotiator for the Behavioral Analysis Unit\, investigator of White Collar Crime\, Health Care Fraud\, Organized Crime\, Public Corruption\, and Civil Rights. Deirdre has held a number of leadership roles to include Special Agent in the office of Professional Responsibility at FBI Headquarters where she investigated allegations of misconduct\; Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Sacramento Field Office where she led the Intelligence Branch and provided oversight for the Evidence Response Team\, Surveillance/Aviation Program\, and SWAT Operations\; and she was one of eight Inspectors who conducted field office and National Program inspections with responsibility for the FBI?s compliance to internal regulations. In March 2013\, Ms. Fike was named as the Special Agent in Charge of the Anchorage Division.
