SUMMARY:Community Energy Lecture Series hosted by the Alaska Center for Energy and Power
DESCRIPTION:Alternative Energy Systems in the Yukon Watershed: A Look at What Has Worked and Lessons Learned\n\n\n\nAs communities on the Alaskan road system suffer from high energy costs for heating and electricity\, many parts of rural Alaska are seeing energy costs that are double or even triple the rates common to Fairbanks. On Tuesday\, March 19 Dave Pelunis-Messier\, Rural Energy Coordinator for Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) will be discussing some of the energy efficiency and renewable energy alternatives that are currently being pursued to help lower the cost of living in rural Alaska. Topics will include an overview of current and future projects relating to rural biomass systems for space heating\, solar PV\, and village scale-efficiency for optimal diesel gen-set operation.\n\n\n\nJoin ACEP at 6:00 pm on March 19th at the Blue Loon for what is sure to be a great talk on energy concerns and possible solutions for rural Alaska.
