DESCRIPTION:Bethel Church (1310 Farmers Loop Road) will host its eighth annual Christian Thought Forum on Friday\, October 19\, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.\, and Saturday\, October 20\, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Each year this event features nationally known Christian thought leaders\, addressing challenging topics facing Christians today\, from a biblical perspective. This year's speakers are Nigel Cameron\, Ph.D. (President of the Center for Policy on Emerging Technologies\, in Washington D.C.) and Paul Copan\, Ph.D. (Author of Is God a Moral Monster?: Making Sense of the Old Testament God). Cameron will address bioethical issues\, including fertility treatments\, euthanasia\, stem-cell research\, human cloning\, and robots in a talk titled\, "Bioethics: Making Life\, Taking Life\, and Faking Life   How to be a Christian in a Brave New World." Copan will speak about "Slavery\, Rape\, and Ethnic Cleansing: Is the God of the Old Testament a Bully\, Murderer and an Oppressor?" This event is free to attend and open to the public.
