\n A community presentation on Thursday\, August 8\, is open to the public\, and will begin at 6:30 p.m. It will lead off with Tanana Valley Clinic pediatrician Dr. Laura Brunner\, daughter of Rotarian Roger Brunner and former judge Niesje Steinkruger\, speaking on the importance of immunizations.

\n She will be followed by Ann Lee Hussey who will expand on her luncheon presentation to a wider audience.
\n Local Rotary Clubs will have displays for the public to learn more about Rotary activities in the community. Information about where to get immunizations in the community will also be available. A $20/donation per person is requested for Rotary&rsquo\;s PolioPlus program\, which is matched 2:1 by the Gates Foundation internationally.
\n\n Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and Tanana Valley Clinic are sponsors of the evening event. Refreshments will be served.
\n\n Hussey states that she has &ldquo\;shared my personal story for polio eradication throughout the United States and around the world\, at numerous District Conferences\, Zone Institutes\, PETS\, Foundation Seminars and club meetings\, including the RIBI Conference in 2010\, International \;Institute in Salt Lake City\, the Presidential Peace Conference in Nairobi\, Kenya\, and at the LA Convention.&rdquo\;
\n\n Hussey has been featured in a Real Simple magazine article entitled &ldquo\;One Woman&rsquo\;s Mission: To Immunize Children Worldwide with the Polio Vaccine\,&rdquo\; and in Rotarian magazine articles and blogs.
\n\n She has travelled worldwide to over 20 countries including India\, Egypt\, Niger\, Bangladesh and Chad in her crusade to immunize as many children as possible against polio. She does all this despite having suffered from polio as a child and currently suffering with PPS &ndash\; post-polio syndrome.
