    Job Description: Join Explore Fairbanks’ dynamic team of professionals who contribute to the economic well- being of the Fairbanks area by marketing to potential visitors. Click here to check out the excitement and energy of Fairbanks - Alaska’s Golden Heart. We currently seek candidates for the following full-time, non-exempt position: Visitor Information Specialist.

    Staffs the Explore Fairbanks information kiosks at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center and Pioneer Park in the summer. Helps to provide information on Fairbanks and Interior Alaska to visitors and potential visitors in person, over the telephone, by mailings and other special projects as needed. Candidate must be attentive to detail, organized, dependable and able to work independently, extensive knowledge of PC’s, good interpersonal communication skills and be a team player. Schedule to include evenings and weekends.

    The Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce's number 2 priority in 2018 is to support the Stand for Alaska coalition, which will work to inform fellow Alaskans of the real dangers of the ballot initiative called Stand for Salmon, and the creation of a job-killing, community damaging regulation that would hurt the state’s ability to develop many of its natural resources. Alaska has a robust permitting process already in place.  

    This ballot initiative will appear on the November 6th ballot during the general election.
