    Job Description

    Project Manager duties typically include:
    · Facilitate facility user meetings to develop programming and discover needs of facilities.
    · Leadership of architects, engineers, specialists, and construction contractors for an enduring, sustainable structure.
    · Overseeing project timelines, budgets, and workflow.   Coordinating design phase construction cost estimates and schedules.
    · Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel performance) and report on project status.
    · Lead construction meetings, inspections, and observations.  Occasional in-state travel for site visits are required.
    · Marketing and interviews for new projects.

    Engineer duties typically include:
    · Mechanical or Civil Engineer Designer of Record for projects.   Mechanical work is buildings and utilities.  Civil work is sites, landscapes, parking, and utilities.
    · Working with a team of designers to develop creative solutions.
    · Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies and performance standards.
    · Preparing drawings, specifications, calculations, and narratives for a discipline within the overall design team.

    Design Alaska seeks these desirable attributes in Project Manager/Engineer applicants:
    · Four-year degree in Engineering and 10 years of design engineering experience in commercial/institutional projects.
    · Licensed in Alaska or ability to become licensed through comity from another state in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
    · Multidiscipline design project management experience, including quality control and managing sub consultants.
    · Interested in vast diversity of projects to meet Alaska construction needs.
    · Desire to mentor emerging professionals.
    · Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit software.
    · Experience in leading a successful team of people.
