Jo A. Kuchle is a shareholder in the law firm of Cook Schuhmann & Groseclose, Inc. She graduated from the University of the Pacific – McGeorge School of Law with her J.D. in 1986 and with her LL.M. in taxation from in 1987. Her practice areas are estate planning, real estate, commercial law, corporations, and probate. She is a member of the American, Alaska and Tanana Valley Bar Associations. Jo is a frequent speaker on estate planning and business formation topics. She is married to former State Representative and State Senator Gene Therriault and they have two adult children.
Jo is active in various community organizations. SHe was a Girl Scout leader for 11 years, and 7 years ago was awarded an “Outstanding Troop Leader” award. She has been active in working on the Catholic Schools of Fairbanks HIPOW Auction and she is a past member of the TOTE Fairbanks Community Advisory Board. She has been the Co-chair of the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” luncheon in Fairbanks for 2012-2014 and is currently a Board member. The 2012 Go Red Luncheon raised over $230,000 and the 2013 Luncheon over $250,000! She is the Chair of the Golden Heart Community Foundation.
She is a member of the Rotary Club of Fairbanks, currently serving as the immediate past President . She has held every office in the Club. As part of her Rotary service, she went on a Rotaplast Mission to Udaipur, India in April, 2011, to assist the medical team with the repair of cleft lips and cleft palettes.
For fun she and her family love to travel, particularly internationally. She has ridden a camel in India and an elephant in Thailand, so her life is complete. Jo likes to sing, watch movies, play tennis (poorly), go to amusement parks, play games, read, and drink really good (but not necessarily expensive) wines.
